The Healthy Way to lose Weight

We all envy and wish we were like those celebrities with their perfect bodies. But what stops us from getting the body of our dreams? The prime reasons why most people are unable to lose weight are the conventional ideas linked to weight loss. Dieting to the point of starvation, purging, excessive exercise, and counting calories does not work in the long term and requires A LOT of determination and willpower. That is why eventually we give up.

It is always better to try healthier and less extreme ways to lose weight. With a few changes in lifestyle and diet, you can achieve that perfect body that you have always wanted.

Eat smart

In our everyday life, we tend to ignore how much of what we are eating. An easy way to lose weight is to keep a close eye on exactly what we eat. Cut out indulgences and comfort foods from your diet and substitute them with foods that help in weight loss. It not only reduces the calories that you consume every day, but their absence also will not be ‘felt’ by your body.

Eat healthily

Insulin is a hormone in the human body that stores fat. Foods with high sugar and starch content release insulin and thus hamper the process of weight loss. It is advisable to remove sugars and starch from your diet, which will lower your insulin levels, and boost your metabolism. Construct your meals to incorporate low-carb vegetables, plenty of proteins, and don’t be afraid to consume an adequate amount of fats. Eat 2 or 3 meals a day and cook your meals in coconut oil.

Break a Sweat

Incorporating light exercises in your weight loss regime is always a good idea. Push-ups, squats, lunges, and crunches are all highly effective exercise moves that require no equipment and can easily be performed at home. Walking and jogging with intervals of brief intense effort is a great way to burn those excess pounds.

Drink Water

Water acts as a metabolism booster, suppresses hunger, and has zero calories. Drinking water before meals will make you eat less because you will feel fuller. Replace juices and energy drinks that are full of sugars, with chilled water. To improve upon the taste, you can always add a hint of lemon or mint. Drinking water also prevents muscle cramps, allowing you to exercise longer and with ease.

 A cup of Tea

Another healthy option when it comes to beverages is green tea. It has been revealed in several studies that green tea is rich in flavonoids and catechins that help in weight loss by raising the metabolic rate and regulating insulin levels. In addition, it contains antioxidants and anti-cancer compounds. However it should be kept in mind that there is no need to consume large quantities of boiling hot green tea, a warm cup or two daily are a sufficient amount.

Manage Stress

When under stress we tend to overeat and binge-eat because stress can lead to the release of hormones that induce hunger. In order to loose and maintain your weight manage your stress levels. Make changes in your lifestyle. Also make sure that you getting enough sleep and are well-rested.
